Applicants must be recent graduates (less than 18 months) from an accredited Masters or DNP program, licensed (CT APRN) and credentialed (FNP-C) or license/credential-eligible as FNP, bilingual preferred, with a stated commitment (written) to practice as a primary care provider in a Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) upon completion of the residency.
We also strongly encourage all applicants to take the national certification examination as early as possible in order to be fully credentialed by the start of the residency in September. Since Spanish language competency is highly desired, we ask non-Spanish speaking applicants to undertake an intensive language course prior to the start of the residency. The residency training program is intended for applicants who are committed to practice careers as primary care providers in FQHCs and other safety net settings.
